New leak shows the Live Tiles and Notification Center of Windows Phone 8.1 Blue
Windows Phone users have at least two reasons to look forward to the upcoming months. Microsoft is baking two new updates of the platform that will bring much anticipated features for the Windows Phone running devices. The GDR3 update is coming first, expected to be launched in few weeks. Rumors say that it will bring the support for 1080 pixel displays. This new improvement in the platform makes it possible for Nokia to release the long anticipated large-sized device running on Windows Phone, Nokia Lumia 1520. The phablet will boast an awesome set of features, including a quad-core Snapdragon processor. As we shared with you yesterday, the new high-end device will be introduced to the mobile world at the end of the month, on 26th of September.
Some months after the GDR3, a new update will roll-out for the Windows Phone devices. It is called Windows Phone 8.1 “Blue” expected to be launched in the Q1 of 2014. It will bring the much anticipated and demanded by users’ notification center. A lot of users of the platform have been missing this convenient feature in Windows Phone. Better later than ever! Microsoft will include it in the Windows Phone 8.1 Blue along with more improvements and new features.
For those of you, who are already impatient to get the features in the OS, it seems that Microsoft is already testing Live Tiles feature in real, working on devices. The company is providing smaller updates to some devices. A recent picture leaked on XDA-developers forum showing Nokia Lumia 620 and Live Tiles for notifications on its screen as well as a tile that combines Skype and Outlook. The most exciting thing that we see on the display for Lumia 620 is the Live Tile with notifications on left and a star in the task bar.
Another leak with a photo revealed by Windows Phone PL shows unknown device running on Windows Phone with some changes in the Start Screen and similar notification center. It seems that the company is providing tests on the update that enables selecting of multiple tiles. It is always exciting to see the upgrade of the software still in work. We have some more waiting to do until we see the Windows Phone 8.1 Blue in real. Are you impatient yet?
