Sony SmartWatch 2 receives FIFA-themed and Silver make-over
The FIFA watch sports a fabric wrist strap with the Brazilian flag colors
As Sony is now an official partner of the FIFA World Cup for this year’s World Cup in Brazil, the Japanese company celebrates by giving a full themed make over to its Sony SmartWatch 2 gear in yellow and green. The FIFA watch looks pretty awesome, especially for soccer fans- it’s clear of plastic and it sports a fabric wrist strap with the Brazilian flag colors. Unfortunately, there’s no word whether the straps will be sold separately so existing owners of the smartwatch could spruce up their devices, however it’s still too early to be pessimistic. So far, the FIFA edition SmartWatch 2 hasn’t made it to any retailers, but you can sign up to be notified on the Clove website in the UK. The device is listed at £132, which is approximately $215, so stay tuned.
In the meantime, Sony isn’t done giving its SmartWatch 2 new attires, as another edition also surfaced officially. This one is classier and follows shortly after Pebble started shipping its Pebble Steel line. The Sony SmartWatch 2 Silver metal edition also drops the usual tasteless plastic fashion that most of the smartwatches out there follow, and bets on the classic watch look. This one really looks beautiful, but it seems like a risky move. Just think about it. Most people will have to look twice at the gear on the wrists before realizing this is something more than a regular metal watch that shows the time. Taking the geeky styling away from a geeky device might give smartwatch lovers mixed feelings.
Both new members of the Sony SmartWatch 2 line are set to arrive at Clove in March listed at £132. So far the Silver version can be pre-ordered directly from Clove’s website, so hit the source link.
