Moto G debuts on the mobile arena, available for sells in Europe and Brazil for $179 SIM-free
The most rumored and anticipated smartophone from the last few weeks Motorola Moto G is finally here. The place where Motorola chose to introduce its newest addition to the Android-running handsets was Sao Paolo in Brazil. Months ago when the company proudly presented its high-end flagship Motorola Moto X it also announced that we should expect an affordable version of the smartphone to arrive in the mobile world soon. The excitement arount the Moto X left the news in the background and only when the first leaks begun to emerge on the web users begun wondering what the new device will be like. The challenge in front of Motorola was to design a device that will bring the superior experience for users, similar to Moto X, excellent performance and innovative software. All this should be dressed in highly customizable panel that will bring something unique and special to the handset. The results of the hard work of Motorola are here dressed in the newest Moto G smartphone.
Motorola Moto G is a compact handset with similar design to Moto X. The unique curves of its body and its smaller size fit perfectly in the hand of users. The new phone arrives with a 4.5-inches screen with a resolution of 720p. As the Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside pointed this is the sharpest screen in this class smartphones. Moto G is designed to bring to people what they need in their modern mobile device in their everyday life. Therefore the display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and the panel provides extra protection against splashes and scratches. Inside the Moto G’s panel there is a special water-resistant nano-coating for better durability.
In terms of hardware, the new smartphone is working with a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip paired with 1GB RAM. The performance is beyond excellent for multitasking, playing games,,. videos etc. The built-in storage in the phone is 8GB or 16GB.
Perhaps a bit disappointing, the smartphone does not arrive with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed. Instead, the device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS with the promise for update to 4.4 KitKat until January next year. Moto G is armored with 5MP camera on the back panel with the capability to capture 720p video. It is enriched with LED flash. The camera on the front side is with 1.3MP. Motorola has been focusing to improve significantly the camera app. It boasts abundance of features, including the possibility to take a shot by a simple random touching of the screen. The camera can record video and take photos at the same time.
The battery of Moto G is with a capacity of 1950mAh. According to Motorola the battery will keep the phone running all day long. In terms of connectivity the handset comes with support for Wi-Fi and HSPA+.
The Moto G provides extraordinary possibilities for customizing with its various interchangeable back plates dubbed Motorola Shells, and colorful accessories. Among the most interesting is the flip case reminding of cover.
Even the various leaks that appeared on the internet about Moto G before its debut could not prepare us for the price of the handset. We knew it will be affordable but who would guess that Motorola will release the mid-range sibling of Moto X for the price of $179 SIM-free for the 8GB variant and $199 for the 16GB model.
Moto G is launching today in Brazil and some countries in Europe. The next stops of the phone are Canada, Latin America, some Asian countries and more markets in Europe. In the first weeks of 2014 the Moto G will land in the US, India, Asia and the Middle East. As the CEO of Motorola Dennis Woodside announced, the goal of company is to give users very affordable and modern smartphone without compromises with quality or outdated software. The company is planning to present the Moto G in 30 countries around the globe by the end of the year. The new handset will be available with a dual-SIM variant in Europe and Brazil.
