Toshiba expands its Excite product line with three new tablets
Toshiba expands its product offering with three new tablet models – Excite Pure, Excite Pro and Excite Write. The Android-powered Excite tablets have very similar to the recent Samsung’s models prices and features. The cheapest model, Toshiba Excite Pure will have a price of $299.99, offering a 10-inch display with a 1280 x 800 pixels resolution and a Tegra 3 processor. The device runs stock Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and it has a stippled black design and a body with a rigid quality. With that price, look and characteristics, the new tablet will experience difficulties fighting with Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD having similar prices, but better quality.
The next model, named Excite Pro offers more attractive features, though the price is not so competitive. Priced at $499.99, the Excite Pro has a 10.1-display with better resolution – 2560 x 1600 and an upgraded Tegra 4 processor under the hood. There is also an improved camera, and doubled RAM and internal storage, compared with the Excite Pure. The tablet looks modern and smooth with an amazing display and high-quality body design. The only negative point here is the high price, $500 is way too much, a price $100 more than the current Nexus 10 and almost the same price level as the iPad.
Finally, the third addition to the Excite list is Toshiba Excite Write. This is the most attractive one, a high-end tablet priced at $599.99. Having a Wacom digitizer and a nice pleasure-sensitive stylus, Excite Write has a lot of interesting features like TruNone – for pen and paper replication. The tablet has a display with Gorilla Glass 2 protection layer, an 8-megapixel main camera and a 1.2 megapixel rear camera. Among the other features are Bluetooth 4.0, 3G/LTE module and the standards microUSB and microHDMI ports.
