The model is so successful and popular that the government in Argentina has decided to team up with Nokia in order to release a new edition of Lumia 520 with pre-installed government-endorsed apps. The new variant of the Lumia 520 was officially presented in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires. The interest towards the device is already big. The phone brings great convenience to users thanks to apps like “BA Cómo llego” that provides information about public transport, routes etc, and “BA Móvil” which delivers current information about the local traffic. Buenos Aires is one of the biggest metropolises in Latin America with over 3 million people and very heavy traffic. The new edition of Lumia 520 is expected to help people to travel around the city easier with the newest information about the public transport and traffic.
The new model will be available for sales in January 2014 in Buenos Aires. It will cost 990 ARS (equal to $154) unlocked. The price of the handset is a bit higher than the deals offered in the US. In the States you can buy it for $99.99 on a contract with AT&T. Microsoft Store offers the device for $59. Lumia 520 is powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1MHz and paired with 512 RAM. It is equipped with 4-inches display with a resolution of 800x480p. The internal storage of the phone is 8GB with microSD slot. The phone is available in many different colors. It supports the basic connectivity features, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G.
