Samsung was planning to release 12.2-inches tablet as part of the Galaxy Note family
Now and then we hear rumors about the concept for 12.2-inches tablet by Samsung but not many leaks and information have appeared until now. Some weeks ago a leak emerged on the internet showing that a mystery device by Samsung with 12.2-inches screen has gone through Bluetooth certification. Back then we all expected that the announcement of the mysterious device will be soon. A recent report shared by DigiTimes brings more light on the device. One of the interesting facts about the tablet is the original plans of Samsung to launch the slate as a Nexus. The idea of the Korean manufacturer was to team up with Google and together to release the next generation tablet. However the mobile giant seems to be focusing more on the small-sized models with 7-inches so the project was left unfinished.
Fortunately it seems that Samsung has not given up on the idea to release a 12.2-inches tablet. The company will add up the device to the Note line. If rumors turn out to be true we expect to see a high-end tablet with an S Pen on board. Another guessing we can make is that the slate will run on the upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat. Samsung has not officially confirmed the existence of the 12.2-inches tablet. Some months ago reports of suppliers revealed that Apple and Samsung are getting ready to introduce 12-inches slates soon. Rumors say that Apple is working on a 12.9-inches slate. The mobile giant is teaming-up with the company Quanta Computer. This is the same company that is working on the smartwatch iWatch expected to be announced in 2014.
The 12+ inches tablets will fill a whole new niche in the mobile world. The latest demands by users for large-sized devices have pushed manufacturers to adapt fast to the changing needs of customers. The new 12-inches tablets certainly have a lot to offer on the mobile arena. Hopefully we will be hearing more about the upcoming devices in the next weeks and months.
