Verizon will release the Windows Phone-powered Samsung Huron aka Samsung Ativ SE
Samsung satisfied the expectations of users who were eager to see the new flagship Samsung Galaxy S5 officially introduced. What is happening with the rumors that the Korean manufacturer is planning to announce a Windows Phone-powered smartphone? Samsung is working on a model with the codename SM-W750V aka Samsung Huron but it seems that the device is not ready to debut just yet. The handset was an object of leaks and gossips in the last weeks. The newest leak comes from the reliable @evleaks who unveils more details about the name of the device and its availability. The Samsung Huron will probably be launched as part of the Ativ line. The rumored name of the smartphone is Ativ SE. The tipster reveals that the Windows Phone – based handset will be released by Verizon.
Little by little we get a better idea of what Samsung Huron aka Samsung Ativ SE will be like. The previous leaks made the hint that the phone will resemble the appearance of the Samsung Galaxy S4. It is expected to arrive with a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080p. Under the shell of the phone is ticking a quad-core processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset paired with 2GB RAM. The Samsung Ativ SE will support LTE connectivity. The new phone will be powered by the Microsoft’s platform but it is still unknown whether it will come with Windows Phone 8 pre-installed or it will feature the newest Windows Phone 8.1 update coming up this spring. The leak does not give a clue for the date for the debut of the model for Verizon.
The addition of new smartphones running on Windows Phone is great for users who prefer the platform and want to have a bigger diversity of devices to choose from. For now the Nokia Lumia phones are the leaders amongst the models running on the Microsoft’s platform. Several other companies like Samsung and Sony have already announced that they are planning to release devices running on Windows Phone.
