Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 surface at the FCC
Both Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 and Tab 4 8.0 share almost the same hardware
Two days ago we reported that Samsung is getting ready to unveil its Galaxy Tab 4 series at MWC later this month. The tablets will share the spotlight with Samsung galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 sporting three different screen sizes- 7.0, 8.0 and 10.1-inches as well as 4G LTE support. After a whole chain of leaks, suggesting the pack of hardware and software specs for the upcoming tablet series, today two amongst the whole crew surfaced at the FCC. The tablets, sporting the model numbers of SM-T530 and SM-T330 finally got the FCC certification; however the two models seem to be only the Wi-Fi variants.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 visited the FCC and the certification indicates the imminent release of the mobile devices. This pretty much confirms the speculations and feeds our hype that the anticipated Samsung flagship tablets will indeed raise the spirits in Barcelona as early as next week during the congress. Unfortunately, although it’s a matter of few days before we have the first glimpse of the handsets, we somehow feel concerned that there are no news regarding the design of the next generation Tab series. In all, it’s most likely for those to keep a design similar to one in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 series.
In terms of specs, both Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 and Tab 4 8.0 share almost the same package of hardware. Aside from the different screen size, both tablets sport 1280×800 pixels of resolution as well as the same quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor under the hood. The memory is set for 1GB of RAM and the typical 16GB of built-in storage. Both tablets will be running the latest Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and will arrive in two variants in terms of connectivity support. The Wi-Fi only, 3G and 4G LTE versions will also differ as the LTE variant of the 10.1-incher will feature a little bit more RAM- 1.5GB. Furthermore, let us not forget the 7.0-inch version of the TAB 4 series that will arrive as an entry-level offering.
