Samsung Galaxy S5 to go innovative with a 4000mAh battery and better one-hand operations
How innovative will Samsung Galaxy S5 be?
Through all the rumors regarding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone, whether they suggest release dates or what camera it will feature, we can’t help but wonder what exactly to expect from the device itself. Four days ago, ETNews tipped the specs of the handset and in case the leaked information from insiders of Samsung is true, we will expect a 5-incher with an ARM powered 64-bit processor. But let’s get to the point- will Samsung Galaxy S5 make a difference and how innovative will it be this time?
Samsung is indeed a giant, we can’t argue with that; however their upcoming devices have lots of expectation upon them as they need to rival products by Apple, Google and Microsoft.
Flexible screen technology
What we have got so far is the display- a 5-inch super AMOLED screen with the density of 560ppi. According to the leaks, it will come in metal casing version and flexible screen and one typical with plastic casing and a regular screen. That is pretty much a great idea, but Apple is also currently trying out different concepts about their Apple iPhone 6, and we still don’t know if their device will enter the competition in only one variant. Furthermore, Samsung showed their flexible display tech earlier this year during the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas.
Much better battery life
What surprised me while reading the report is that the upcoming smartphone will have a 4000mAh battery. This, compared to the typical smartphones with 2000- 2600mAh batteries, is quite the hit. Twice as much battery life? Now we’re talking! Apparently, Galaxy S5 will be the bulkiest high-end smartphone to come. In short, so far Samsung may honestly poke Apple to brag with their Galaxy S5 as the device is likely to be bigger, faster, and more endurable. And, as usual, that’s not all! We still haven’t go to the software part.
Users will be able to resize their screen interface according to their comfort zone
Few hours ago, a patent application described that one-hand operations will work even better with Galaxy S5. According to the schemes, there will be a feature that will enable users to resize their screen interface according to their comfort zone. Meaning, instead of viewing a standard square window or portrait-landscape view, the feature will allow every window to be resizable no matter the form. Besides the absolute free transform option, the new software will allow users to change the density of their interface elements. This will make one-hand experience much easier on the upcoming device, especially it Samsung goes for bigger screens.
It’s important to know that what leaked is the patent application, not its integration with Galaxy S5, so it’s fair to say that it might not be featured in Samsung’s devices any time soon. But it’s also fair to note, that it’s not unlikely for the feature to pop in Galaxy S5. As we already mentioned that the device is struggling with OIS camera issues that will be a good way to compensate and the upcoming Galaxy S5 to be still innovative enough to rival other companies’ flagships.
