Samsung Galaxy Gear puts the beginning of a broad range of devices
Samsung Galaxy Gear has just been announced some days ago and the talks about its successors have begun. Samsung made it clear that the new model smartwatch puts the beginning of the line Galaxy Gear that will consist of various devices at different price rates to satisfy the needs of more customers. The usage of smartphones and how they will fit in the mobile world is yet to be seen. The Galaxy Gear was met with different emotions.
One of the most discussed issues about the device is its short battery life, its limited capability to be paired up only with Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the high price for the device. The costs for Galaxy Gear are rumored to be $299.99 when the smartwatch get released later this month. Samsung has announced its intentions to develop the Galaxy Gear name as a sub brand to the famous Galaxy line.
How is Samsung planning to offer devices at different prices is still not revealed. The expectations include devices with different designs, sizes and capabilities. According to the executive vice president and head of the design strategy team of Samsung, Dong-hoon Chang, the company develops hundreds of designs until it reaches the wanted results and even then it refines the models multiple times.
The Galaxy Gear’s design is based on the functionality of the device. It is equipped with a polyurethane strap that comes in several different colors. The interchangeable swaps will require the help of specialists in order to be swapped, so if you get a Galaxy gear device, don’t try to disassemble it by yourself. In the strap will be located the speaker, the antennas and the camera of Galaxy Gear. The company might decide to introduce cheaper models that will not feature all the capabilities, like the camera.
The new wearable devices mark the beginning of a new era in the mobile world. Samsung Galaxy Gear is one of the first smartwatches that arrive on the arena. Sony and Qualcomm have already presented their versions of the smartwatch. Apple and LG are working on their versions of the wearable devices.
