Samsung Galaxy A5 and A3 announced
Super thin mid-range devices
Samsung unveiled its latest additions to the Galaxy line-up. Samsung Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 are two mid-class devices with traditional, for someone boring Samsung design, but with metal and very thin bodies. A5 is just 6.7mm, while A3 has a thickness of 6.9mm which make these devices one of the thinnest on the market.
Galaxy A5 has a 5-inch AMOLED display with an HD resolution, a quad-core processor at 1.2 GHz and 2 GB of RAM. There is a decent 5MP shooter for selfie maniacs at the front, while the back side camera module features a 13MP sensor for more quality regular photos. The internal storage is 16GB but there is an option to add an SD card up to 64 GB. This phone is fueled by a 2300 mAh battery.
The second new model, Samsung Galaxy A3, has a very similar design but less attractive innards. The screen is smaller, 4.5 inches across the diagonals, while the back camera is 8MP. Other differences are in the RAM department (1 GB) and the battery (1900 mAh).
Both new Galaxy members come with LTE support, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, a bunch of software goodies for photo enthusiasts, ultra power saving mode, and more.
Samsung is releasing the new models sometime next month starting from selected countries like China. What do you think about the new handsets? Samsung is constantly flooding the market with more and more phones with the same look and similar specs, a strategy that might not be too successful considering the latest earnings report.
