Pebble introduced the awesome new things coming up for the smartwatch
Pebble promised “awesome new things” to be announced during the livestreeam event few hours ago and we can clearly say that the company kept its word. If we want to sum up the new things that were unveiled by Pebble, they are an integration of iOS 7 for the smartwatch and a new SDK for developers.
The innovative smartwatch Pebble that was officially released in the beginning of 2013 now provides support for iOS 7 platforms aka the iPhones, iPads and iPods that run on this update of the operating system. Among the goodies that Pebble’s users can enjoy now are the Notification Center and the Alerts. The smartwatch will be able to show notifications of different kind, emails, texts and even alerts from social networks. The iOS 7 integration in the smartwatch arrives thanks to a fully upgraded iOS app of Pebble. The application is pending for the green light from Apple to be included in the App Store. Once it hits the virtual shelves of the App Store, it will deliver all the improvements and the features that Pebble promised yesterday.
The support for the Notification Center of iOS 7-running devices will be very convenient for users, especially with the possibility to choose to manage and set up the notifications they would like to receive. The new Pebble SDK 2.0 will encourage more developers to work on various apps and create a rich library of native applications for the Pebble smartwatch.
During the livestream event the company revealed some interesting data about the whole platform of the innovative timepiece. For example, more than 10000 developers are working on the software. Over 2 million apps and faces for Pebble smartwatch are downloaded until now.
