In the past two months the rumor mill in the tech world has provided us with different clues about the expected date for the official announcement of the device. The first speculations suggested a release in December but this did not happen. We still have some hopes to see the Lumia Icon at the CES 2014 but it is more likely for Nokia to present the model at a separate event. The latest rumors reveal the date 16th of January.
Nokia Lumia Icon is the successor of Nokia Lumia 928 that will also be exclusively launched by Verizon. While we are waiting for the alleged date for the debut of the phone, or for any official confirmation for the model by Nokia or Verizon, we can explore the new leaks and rumors surfacing on the web.
Just recently we saw the Lumia Icon posing for the camera in a special Armor Stand case. As expected, the handset will have more than one accessory. The newest leak with pictures of the phone comes from the retailer Incipio that will offer cases for the model. Thanks to the attentive readers of PhoneArena the Nokia Icon was spotted “dressed” in different cases with different colors. In some reason the retailer has taken down the photos and the ad, but fortunately we can share them with you when the cases for Lumia Icon were listed in the site.
The upcoming smartphone is often referred to as the smaller version of the Nokia Lumia 1520. And when we say “smaller” it is related only to the size of the device. Nokia Lumia Icon is expected to arrive with an impressive package of specs with Snapdragon 800 chip, 20MP PureView camera and the latest update of Windows Phone 8 pre-installed.
