Next Samsung smartphones might arrive with fingerprint scanners
Samsung is planning to integrate fingerprint scanner in the upcoming smartphones
HTC, Apple and Pantech are among the first companies that integrated the fingerprint scanner in their flagships. Are you curious which manufacturers will be the next to implement biometric features in their devices? It will probably happen sooner than later. A recently published report in Reuters reveals that Samsung is getting ready to integrate the innovative technology in some of the upcoming devices in 2014. According to the CEO of Fingerprint Cards, Johan Carlstrom, Samsung will launch a new model handset next year that will feature an advanced fingerprint identification technology. Carlstorm also said that he is hoping that his company will be among the main suppliers of fingerprint scanners for the upcoming devices of Samsung in the future.
Not long ago Samsung claimed that it is not developing a fingerprint technology. Many understood the statement as a confirmation that the company is not in a hurry to release similar to Apple’s devices. However the fact that it is not developing its own technology for fingerprint scanner does not mean that Samsung will not integrate such features. The company is actually working with third parties for the implementing of biometric technologies. The rumors suggest that one or more of the upcoming flagships of Samsung will be equipped with a fingerprint scanner. The features will be similar to its rivals.
The soonest smartphone that will be introduced by Samsung is Galaxy S5. It will arrive in the first months of 2014. If Galaxy S5 does not provide a fingerprint scanner, we will hope to see the feature in Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The excitement is definitely building up. Galaxy S5 might be equipped with an advanced eye-scanning technology as well. Recent reports reveal that Samsung is working on the concept. We are getting more and more curious to see what the next devices will have to offer for us.
