New rumors suggest that Moto G is the budget Motorola DVX
Earlier this week when the whole mobile world was focusing on the big events of Nokia and Apple, interesting news came from Motorola. Apparently the company has obtained a trademark for the name Moto G in the Patent and Trademark Office in the US. No further information was revealed about the device or accessory that will be carrying this name. The speculations on the topic begin instantly. Some were making a guess that Motorola will be announcing a Google Edition Moto X, because of the letter “G” in the patent filing of the new device. There were suggestions that the Moto G is the name of a new tablet that will be introduced by the company.
Now we finally got some more details about the mysterious device. The source of the information is one of the most reliable leakers about Motorola news, Houdabao. According to him, the Moto G is in fact the budget version of the flagship Motorola Moto X, dubbed Motorola DVX. It is the low-priced device purposed for international distribution. Even though it doesn’t bring all the extras of Moto X, like the Moto Maker tool for example, the device will bring a decent package of capabilities and specs. It will come in different color options with interchangeable back plates. A recent leak from the documentation of Republic Wireless revealed the announcement of the device in October.
The Moto DVX aka Moto G will sport a sleek design with 4.5-inches LCD screen. The smartphone will work with the X8 Computer System by Motorola. It will support dual-SIM. In terms of connectivity the FCC filing for the device did not include 4G support but there is always the possibility that Motorola will launch more than one variants of Moto G. The expected price for the low-cost phone is in the range between $200 and $250 unlocked. Rumors say that the Moto DVX (Moto G) will be released in the last months of 2013. We will wait and see…
