Motorola withdrawing from South Korea in 2013
Following their plans to “consolidate our global R&D efforts to foster collaboration, and to focus more attention on markets where we are best positioned to compete effectively”, Motorola Mobility has started already closing offices and operations in South Korea.
The company follows HTC which closed its South Korean offices already back in July due to low demand for its smartphones. Indeed, Apple and Samsung continue to steadily dominate the markets in this part of the world with their iPhone and Galaxy smartphone lines.
Relax! Motorola promised they will continue to provide technical support to customers in the area even after the restructuring.
