Leak with information for Acer Liquid S2 reveals some of the specs for the upcoming phablet
Acer joined the world of the large-size devices with its impressive Android running phablet Acer Liquid S1 earlier this year, in June during Computex. If you think that this will be all from Acer for the year, you are wrong. Only months after the flagship was officially announced we hear the first rumors and leaks about the upcoming new generation of the line, Acer Liquid S2. With the increasing number of high-end plus-sized phone devices, the demand of new modems is growing. The next month is expected to bring two of the most anticipated phablets, HTC One Max that will probably make its first appearance during IFA and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be announced on 4th of Sept. Everything shows that the new phablet by Acer will compete against the plus-sized devices of the main rivals in the mobile world.
The newest leak with the specs of the Acer Liquid S2 comes from a roadmap of the company where the phablet is listed with the name Hemingway. It will be equipped with a 5.98-ich display Full HD with a resolution of 1080 pixels. The phablet will run on the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie OS if the “K OS” in the roadmap relates to this version of the OS. It will work with quad-core CPU with 2.3GHz speed, Snapdragon 800 chipset and 2 GB RAM. For a comparison, the upcoming phablet by Samsung – Galaxy Note 3 will work over the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean build. The Liquid S2 is assure 16GB internal memory and will support abundance of connectivity features, including LTE and NFC. The expected price of the device will be around $790 (€600).
The whole information from the leak is believable, except the predictions for the OS. The rumors for Liquid S2 suggest that the device will be announced until the end of the summer while the new Android 5.0 will be launched sometime in the fall.
