HTC Zara mini may soon appear on the market
The desire of manufacturer to produce the so-called “mini” versions of their smartphones seems to be going down the line, not only reserved for premium devices, but to more mid-to-low range class devices as well. As you might have a vague memory of a month ago a rumor about a device called HTC Zara that was supposed to be a rather weird combination between HTC One and HTC Desire appeared and now it is coming back again but this time a little modified. What we mean by that is that this time the information that we have is in regards to the HTC Zara mini with codename HTC 301e.
Passing through Tenaa, the Chinese version of FCC, gets rid of any possibility for surprise by the HTC Zara mini at this point. It seems that the almost official images were not enough that now we have the supposed “specs” that will come with the mid-range targeted phone. As you may notice the specs are far from limited. They include:
- Android 4.1.2
- 4.3-inch, 480×800 TFT display
- 1GHz dual-core chipset, possibly a Snapdragon 400
- 512MB of RAM, 8GB of microSD-expandable internal storage
- A 5MP CMOS sensor capable of 720p video at the rear with a 1.3MP front shooter
- 132x66x9.88mm, weighs 125g
- dual-SIM support, compatible with GSM/WCDMA networks
- gravity, proximity and light sensors
- comes in black and white
For now there is not much more relevant information that we may have to offer on this device and it seems that it will be mostly focused on the Chinese market and it will have a really reasonable price for what it seems to be not really cutting-edge specs but we should keep in mind that this is a mid-range phone not a premium device. The price has not been said officially and there is not much information unofficially but there is some rumor that it will be about $212 (1299 Yuan).
