There is one of the two things that make the latest leak picture of the HTC M8 legit. Undeniably the dual-LED flash in the elliptical cutout housing is a serious indicator of the real device but it is too early to tell. What we do know, however, is that on the photo it seems very shiny and HTC Family indeed say that it actually is with shiny metal. We will have to wait to see but another thing that catches the attention is also the black plastic inserts that were rumoured to appear again.
The real deal is supposed to show up on the MWC. Nevertheless, until then we can take a look at what we have leaked. Supposing the photo of the shiny backed HTC M8 is legit, HTC Family took a number of leaked pictures from different sources and mixed them up in the video below. The pictures come from sources like @evleaks, @llabtofer and @leoside.
The HTC M8 is rumoured to be the new HTC One. And we are starting to get a feel for what we might expect from the sequel to the HTC One. It was and still is one extremely well designed phone and it is no wonder that HTC have not deviated too much from the tried and proved designed of the HTC One. It seems that there are small changes like the dual flash and the dual sensor on the back but overall the device very much looks the same with maybe trimmed and curved edges and “faded plastic inserts” on the side.
The HTC One set the bar really high for any following models after it and it would be really hard to outline the changes and innovation when the predecessor has set such a high standard. We will need to eagerly await the MWC to see if the HTC M8 will make a decent sequel to it.
