Google Nexus 7 arrives July 30
A leaked Best Buy ad indicates that the new Google Nexus 7 launches next week, July 30. Earlier, we heard the news that the slate arrives at Staples on July 31. Staples will receive the devices no later than July 24, but the products will be kept locked until launch.
According to the Best Buy ad, the Google Nexus 7 tablet starts selling Tuesday. But next Tuesday is the Google media event in which the Nexus 7 is believed be officially introduced. Therefore, the most realistic date for the real launch is next Tuesday, July 30 or just a week later after the announcement.
The ad flyer also reveals some of the specs and the price of the tablet. So, the new model has a 16 GB of internal storage and 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The Google Nexus 7 costs $229.99 – the same price level as the previous leaks.
Meanwhile, @evleaks posted another image of the new model – this time a more detailed press render showing the device with the Nexus logo and the mate black finish. The picture shows the Nexus logo in a landscape format, the Asus logo in the bottom and the open rear camera on board. You can also see the notification light in the front. @Evleaks suggests that the device will have two variants – with 16 GB and 32 GB storage.
Google will unveil the tablet during its press event next week. Google is expected to launch also new version of Android, so it is quite possible that the Nexus 7 could be the first product with an official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. We will inform you as soon as we learn more details about the Google Nexus 7.
