Google might delegate the future producing of Google Glass to Motorola
Motorola is one of the oldest companies in the tech world. The experience is as important as the flexibility to adjust to new trends and technologies in the mobile arena. Motorola has had numerous successful products in the years and it has obtained a lot of patents that grab the interest of Google. Many believed that the acquisition of Motorola by the giant has happened mainly because of the patent rights owned by the company. However the latest flagship released by Motorola, Moto X is a good example that both companies can benefit a lot from their work together.
The successful partnership continues with plans of Google to delegate the production of the Google Glass to Motorola. According to the CEO of Motorola Dennis Woodside who spoke for Wall Street Journal, the building of the AR specs for the future models of the Google Glass “could someday be an opportunity” for the manufacturer, now entirely owned by Google. The experience of Motorola in the mobile world is a valuable source of helpful advice for the manufacturing process of Google Glass. The official release of the innovative wearable computing device is expected in the near future, more precisely in Q4.
The acquisition of Motorola by Google happened in 2011. This 2013 year is becoming one of the most significant years for the company with the introduction of the first high-end smartphone Moto X that is the result of the cooperation between Google and Motorola. Even though it is owned by the giant, Motorola succeeds to keep its identity and characteristics apart from Google. For example, the new Moto X runs on the Android 4.2.2 OS Jelly Bean, while Google has integrated the new Android 4.3 to its Nexus flagships. The special Google editions of HTC and Samsung also got the new build just days ago.
Google Glass is one of the most interesting and exiting devices that grabs the attention of developers. The company is planning to introduce it to a lot of markets, available for sells until the end of the year.
