Facebook to integrate deeper into Android
According to quite a credible rumour, Facebook is working on a new kind of software that will engage the users of the social network even more than now. This will surely strengthen Facebook’s positions in the world of smartphones, especially on Android-based phones. The new software will show the content from the user’s Facebook account directly on the home screen.
The rumour suggests that Facebook will collaborate with HTC on the project, just for beginning. The idea is to settle arrangements with as many Android smartphones manufacturers as possible. So what will be the direct results for you? When turning the phone on, the first thing you will see will be the content from your home screen. Of course, you can easily access your profile now with the help of the application for Android, but first you have to find it, then to tap it… with the new software you will be in Facebook without any efforts – truly American, isn’t it?
There is no official comment from Facebook yet, but this week there will be some press event, where the company will show their ‘new home on Android’. HTC did not comment, too, but reminded us of HTC ChaCha which came with special button that allowed the owner to upload a picture in Facebook just after taking it.
Such an integration will be good for every side concerned. Facebook, which claims to have more than 650 million mobile users, will start earning more from them, possibly from advertising, HTC will gain more popularity and sell more phones worldwide, having the opportunity to try standing up against Samsung and Google will earn more from the spread of its components, integrated in Android. This will be a great step for Android and a powerful weapon in the war of the mobile operating systems, which will surely bring a lot of damage to iOS.
