Ematic improves the children-oriented Genesis Prime and FunTab Pro
Ematic has recently expanded its lineup with new budget oriented tablets. As you probably know, Ematic tries to satisfy a variety of different target groups ranging from children to advanced users. In an attempt to further improve its children based models, Ematic is adding Liquipel waterproof covers to two of its models – the Genesis Prime and the FunTab Pro.
Making some of the popular models waterproof does make sense. As you may have noticed if you have children, they are not so good at keeping things from getting covered with water. That’s why Ematic has added water protection to the Genesis Prime and FunTab Pro models. The Liquipel should protect the tablets against spills and wet encounters. Ematic promises the Liquipel will ensure the full protection, since it covers the entire body of the tablets, including all ports and buttons.
Ematic Genesis Pro includes a 7-inch display with a resolution of just 800 x 480 pixels. The processor is 1.1 GHz backed by 512 MB of RAM. It runs Android 4.1 with a full access to the Google Store. This model has an internal storage of 4 GB, expandable via micro SD. There‘s a VGA camera at the front. As you can see, this is a very low end device, which has a reasonable low price of just $89.99.
The other model for kids dubbed Ematic FunTab Pro has almost the same specs, expect more internal storage (8 GB), a secondary camera and a bunch of nice kid-friendly software. Among the special features for kids are Interactive books and Art Studio, plus many games including Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja.
So, both improved tablets for kids have now full water protection. The cheaper one, the Genesis Pro costs $89.99, while the FunTab Pro is $129.99. You can find them at Walmart.
