Until now the entry-level devices were not eligible for updates in most of the cases.
Among the improvements in the new platform will be the compatibility with high-tech wearable devices, such as the Google Glass and smartwatches. According to sources Android 4.4 will provide standardized remote for the platform which will mean that developers will not need to create different apps for the different manufacturers.
