Caterpillar announces a new smartphone – B15
Not everyone expected that the global leader in the infrastructure industry will come out with a new phone, but it did. And, of course, this happened on the mobile world congress in Barcelona, Spain. The phone is called CAT B15 and is a successor of the CAT B10 released about a year ago. Let’s see what’s different now.
What’s the same – the rugged look remains. Apart from this, B15 is much forward than B10. It comes with 4’’ display with Gorilla Glass which is 0.8’’ more than B10. The resolution, however, is the same – 800×480. Another improvement is the processor, which now is 1GHz by MediaTek (MT6577).
In addition, CAT B15 offers 512MB operative memory, 4GB storage capacity, support of up to 32GB microSD, 3G support, FM Radio, and 2000mAh battery. As the previous model, this one also sports a 5MP rear and VGA front camera. One of the best things about the phones (and surprising as well) is that it comes with Jelly Bean on board.
Speaking of toughness, you can drop CAT B10 from 1.8 metres height and it will survive. Moreover, it is waterproof (IP67), which means it is capable of remaining underwater up to 1 meter depth for 30 minutes without any damages. And, not to forget, you can use the smartphone in various climates, as it works perfectly from -20 to 55 degrees Celsius.
Well, the phone surely is perfect for people, who lead extreme way of living or have hard and dangerous jobs. Or, for those who constantly drop their phones. You can get the CAT B10 in March for 329 Euro.
