Andy Rubin states he welcomes Firefox OS
Every time Andy Rubin says something, it attracts the Mobile World’s attention, as he is considered the father of Android. At the Roundtable at the Mobile World Congress Rubin talked about Samsung and the new open-source operating system – Firefox OS.
Andy Rubin said that Android has nothing to do with the success of Samsung. He stated that the results the Korean giant is achieving is not due to the system, but to its execution. A lot of companies use the free system and benefit from it, but Samsung has a specific approach. Andy Rubin advised those companies, which want to achieve the success of Samsung, should find a new way to do it, because Google can’t eliminate the difference between Sammy and the others. According to him, the two most successful device of Samsung now are Galaxy Note II and SIII.
Next Andy mentioned Firefox OS. He said he has nothing against the system and that everything open is good. He said he is glad that there will be another open-source system for Android to compete with and that competition is good. Andy believes that the new system may in fact be beneficial for Google because it will provide with Internet access some parts of the world where Android can’t work because of hardware requirements.
