Samsung ATIV Odyssey finally coming to Verizon
After being delayed due to undisclosed reasons, the Samsung ATIV Odyssey shall finally make its way to Verizon’s subscribers in the coming weeks. It will be actually the first Windows Phone 8 smartphone by Samsung to be released in the U.S.
The Samsung ATIV Odyssey is indeed just a mid-range handset. It packs a 4-inch Super AMOLED display (480 by 800 pixels of resolution) and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor; a 5MP main camera on the back capable of shooting 1080p video, and a 1.2MP above the screen for video chat; 8GB of storage available but you can add a microSD card of up to 64 gigs; a pretty decent 2,100mAh battery.
Software wise the Windows Phone 8 offers a number of handy applications, courtesy of Samsung. The ATIV Odyssey comes with a basic photo editor, a Mini Diary for logging your daily activities, and the Now app, which provides up-to-date information about the weather conditions, latest news, and stock prices.
No info on how much the Samsung ATIV Odyssey will cost, but our guess is that on-contract it’s price will be quite reasonable.
