Huawei presenting yet another Full HD 5-incher – the Ascend D2
Huawei’s press conference at the CES 2013 unveiled another 5″ Full HD screen device, accompanying the Ascend Mate. Its name is Ascend D2, and, yes, you must have heard of it already.
The device features a homemade quad-core K3V2 processor, and Huawei claims it to make their D2 “the fastest smartphone”. The phone also sports 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, 13 MP rear camera, and runs Android 4.1.
The best part is the impressive 3,000 mAh fast-charging type battery, which, again according to the producer, is good for full two days’ use, a claim that we are actually inclined to believe, since the company has put a lot of efforts to introduce power-saving technologies, such as the Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX).
The outer appearance of the handset features a metal frame inside and curved chassis, making it more ergonomic to hold. Dimesnions: 14 mm x 71mm x 9.4mm, and the phone weighs fine at 170 grams. It’s also water- and dust-resistant. The new smartphone comes in two color variants – Crystal Blue and Pearl White.
The icing on the cake is that the Ascend D2 offers stereo recording, an option which is not that often seen.
Where will the Ascend D2 land outside of China this spring, is yet unknown.
