Optimus G – the quad-core beast was officialy announced by LG at their press event held in New York. Where it was confirmed that the device wil be available to US users in Q4 of this year.
The US intended version of Optimus G is in fact identical to the international version – it packs a 4.7-inch HD IPS touchscreen and is the first phone to be powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz Krait processor and an Adreno 320 GPU. It also features 2GB RAM, an 8 or 13 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording, a microSD slot, and the usual connectivity options plus LTE and NFC. The smartphone runs on Android 4.0 ICS, but the Jelly Bean update will follow shortly after release.
The price is still not confirmed by the US carriers, but in any case, knowing how hard LG tries to push the device on the US market, we expect it to hit all major carriers with a good bargain price.
