Оne thing that’s been consistently true of Samsung Galaxy S5 is that the flagship will come with a Snapdragon 801 processor inside. Prior to its press event yesterday at the MWC 2014 in Barcelona, different rumors prompted speculations that Samsung would reveal two versions of its flagship – one with a quad-core and one with an octa-core processor. Samsung didn’t mention a second version, but we found a brochure that confirms its existence.
A picture posted on Samsung’s official blow hints that an octa-core Galaxy S5 will arrive at a later stage. The second more powerful version will have an Exynos Infinity CPU running at 2.1 GHz and the device will probably launch in South Korea. We have been told that Samsung is working on its new processor, but the company didn’t mention it at MWC event as expected. Instead, Samsung revealed a version with a quad-core Snapdragon 801 ticking over at 2.5 GHz.
Compared with its predecessor, the Galaxy S5 has an improved camera (16MP), refined design, new back covers with soft touch finish and a fingerprint scanner. The phone comes in three attractive colors including electric blue, shimmery white and copper gold. There is a 5.1 inch Full HD 1080p Super AMOLED display, 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of storage and a microSD slot. S5 is dust and waterproof so it can be submerged in 3 feet of water for 30 minutes.
Other key specs found on the Galaxy S5 include a 2800 mAh battery, S Health Fitness Tracking 3.0 and the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Samsung Galaxy S5 will launch on April 11, available from all major US carriers.
