Google might be working on turning chats into comic strips
The project will be shareable via email, IM, social network
The sharing of information among users of social networks has developed into a worldwide phenomenon, supported by various different facilities. Millions of text, picture, video and audio communications are sent and received on a daily basis among users of such networks.
Following the success of Bitstrips, Google is thinking of turning your conversations into a funny comic strip, like the old-school ones from the newspaper like Calvin & Hobbes, and sharing them with friends, families and on the web in general. It was reported that Google has filed for a patent for a new app which will allow such a thing.
The patent details a process that uses pre-existing conversations of yours, such as chats and turns them into comic strips. This process could be manually initiated or it can be done automatically, which the option to edit the conversation by the owner.
This project seems to be in the running with Microsoft’s Comic Chat or Apple’s system for turning video game choices into comic books. So basically it will be nothing new to the general audience, but it does have a key difference from the rest – it will be shareable via email, IM, social network. The system, as outlined by the patent, merely repurposes conversations between two people into a comic strip layout. Then it’s given a title by the user, a theme can also be selected and it’s formatted for its intended destination. After that, editing permissions can also be given to other parties, so that the strip can live on.
However, there is no actual information about whether this is something that Google plans to create and bring to its users or just to have shelved for the time being and tucked away with the rest of its patents. Only time will tell whether users will be able to use with particular system.
