Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ debuts on the mobile arena
TLC or Alcatel as it is known on the international markets has just announced the much anticipated successor to One Touch Idol X, the Alcatel One Touch Idol X+. The growing number of leaks and rumors about the new model made the hint that the flagship will debut soon. Now the phone goes official. The most recent rumors suggested that One Touch Idol X+ will arrive with a wristband and a smartwatch. The company announced the phone along with a wristband named Boom Band that works with Bluetooth connectivity and is purposed for activity tracker and an alarm.
There isn’t a smartwatch just yet but there is no doubt that Alcatel is working on an advanced wearable device that is will be announced soon, perhaps as a separate model. Other than that the rumors about Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ turned out to be true. The new smartphone arrives with a 5-inches IPS screen with a resolution of 1080 pixels. It is powered by more advanced processor than it is predecessor. It is equipped with an octa-core processor with MediaTek MT6592 chip clocked at 2GHz and 2GB RAM. As expected the new flagship is LTE enables. This is something that the One Touch Idol X is missing. It runs on the Android platform. The primary camera of the One Touch Idol X+ is 13MP with f/2.0 located on the rare panel. The new phone is powered by 2500mAh battery which is larger than the battery of its predecessor.
In terms of design, the smartphone is a bit thicker, with 7.9mm thickness of the body compared to its older sibling. One Touch Idol X+ is officially announced in China. It can be purchased from JD.com at price of CN 1999 (equal to $330) after 15th of January, 2014. The company has not announced whether the phone will be introduced to more markets outside China.
