BlackBerry OS build 10.2.1 might be adopting Android
A new Android Runtime is expected on the next BlackBerry 10 platform that would allow Android application store to be finally available to BlackBerry users for download and installation.
BlackBerry might be adopting Android, thought there still hasn’t been an official confirmation. If the company is really walking that way then the four leaked photos of the newest BlackBerry OS build 10.2.1 could indeed suggest the installation of Google Play to be possible and if all of this is true, it would enable users to finally download Android applications on BlackBerry devices. According to the speculations these leaked photos indicate, BlackBerry users will no longer need to side- load Android apps.
The images leaked in the CrackBerry forum as the suggested compatibility may arrive on the upcoming BlackBerry OS version 10.2.1 that will be rolled out to few smartphone devices as well as the PlayBook tablet and, as we see on the photos, Android apps on the BlackBerry Z10. It’s kinda strange for BlackBerry to be leaving the frontline so soon and become another HTC or Samsung, however, as we said, the images are possible to be faked.
As we can see, BlackBerry Z10 is shown with screens of the opened Google Play Store ready to download Android apps and apparently this addition to BlackBerry would work greatly to owners of these devices (BlackBerry 10 users who already have Google Play Store on their handsets) who aren’t aware of how to side-load Android apps or they simply don’t want to. The new 10.2.1 build will reach handsets and the PlayBook so Google Play Store would come to the flagship tablet as well. So far, even the Photoshop dogs couldn’t mark any failures in the photos, but only time will tell is the four photos of BlackBerry Z10 are really working alongside with Android.
