Google Wallet app update brings new features and compatibility for Android 2.3 and above
Google Wallet app is becoming more and more popular way for mobile, online and in-store payments in the US. Currently the Google Wallet app works only with the Sprint carrier in the US. According to sources speaking with AllThingsD, three other mobile operators will also support the application, T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon. The clients of the carriers will be able to take advantage from the Wallet only for the mobile and online purchase and not for the NFC based in-store payments.
The new update of Google Wallet is expected to arrive within days. The great news about it is that it will work with Android 2.3 and newer platforms. The new features in the update include the option to send money without charges or fees to other US citizen via email. It will work by linking the information of the received with the Google Wallet. It reminds a lot to what PayPal has to offer. The most amazing part is that you will be able to make money transfers using your Google Wallet balance or via debit or credit cards.
The new version of the app brings you the possibility to add loyalty cards. All you need to do is to scan the bar code and to enter the card number in the app. As expected, user of the new Google Wallet app will use integrations with special loyalty programs for additional extras, like Belly and Alaska Airlines.
