Power Cover will be introduced with the next generation Microsoft Surface tablets
Recently we shared with you the rumors about the next generation Microsoft Surface tablets. The latest leaks reveal Intel-based processors for the slates and the expectations for their earlier launch in October. Microsoft has already decreased the price of the Surface RT tablet to clear space for the upcoming devices. The costs for the most important accessory of the tablet, the Touch Cover is also lower now. The new generation slates will arrive with two covers, Touch Cover and Type Cover according to the recent leaks. The latest news about the upcoming tablets is that they will work with another type of cover Power Cover that will bring more juice to the device thanks to the integrated battery in it.
The new cover comes as an accessory that will work with the new tablets and the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet. The Power Cover will not be compatible with it is the Microsoft Surface. the reason for this is the needed new connector integrated in the device that is used for the attaching of the cover. The Microsoft Surface Pro is equipped with the needed improvement which means that only the first original RT Surface will not support the Power Cover.
The new accessory will sport similar design to the Type Cover. It will be appreciated by users who prefer the ordinary type of keyboard. The Power Cover will add up to the weight of the tablet. For example, with the new cover, the slate will weigh with additional 530 grams. The Power Cover is larger than the Type Cover and increases the thickness of the tablet with almost one centimeter. It is still not revealed how much the new cover will increase the battery life. The price also remains a mystery for now. It will be sold by retailers as an accessory for the new slates.
