The highly anticipated flagship model codenamed Sony Honami appeared on a new benchmark. The report revealed by GFXbench shows that the new model listed as C6903 will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and have a MSM8974 processor. Those of you familiar with the tech stuffs know that this is the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 chipset. Earlier leak points that the processor will be clocked at 2.2 Ghz. Among the other details in the benchmark are the Ardeno 330 graphic adapter and the 1080p HD display. The display resolution is likely to be 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The report argues that the Sony Honami will be launched running Android 4.2.2 which will be replaced with version 4.3 with a future software update. Earlier, Sony Honami appeared on the FCC filling with similar characteristics. There are other unconfirmed specifications, like a 3000 mAh battery, 16 GB of internal storage and 2 GB of RAM. It seems that one of the most important features in the Honami will be the huge camera. Yes, it is not so impressive like the 41 megapixel PureView sensor in the Lumia 1020, but we are pretty sure the 20 MP sensor in the Sony Honami will deliver decent photos. The rear-facing camera on Sony’s handset will have a 1/1.6 sensor and Xenon Flash. A recent leak suggests that users will be able to broadcast live videos on Facebook.
A week ago, Sony Honami appeared in a new set of leaked images. The phone will have a speaker grill on the bottom and a dedicated camera button. The five inch high-end phone is expected to be announced during the IFA event in Berlin. The other highly anticipated new model, the Sony Xperia Z could be also revealed in September during the same event.
