HTC Desire 500 is official, read more details
We guess most of you have read the news about the upcoming HTC One Max – the huge high-end phone expected in a couple of days. But some of you may also be interested in the just announced entry level HTC Desire 500. The smartphone was officially unveiled in Taiwan.
HTC Desire 500 is a phone having a 4.3-inch SLCD display with a resolution of 800 x 450p and a Snapdragon 200 processor. It runs Android with the Sense 5, similar to HTC One. The phone has also 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. If it is not enough for you, you have a microSD slot for an expansion. The camera is 8 MP with LED flash. It features the HTC’s ImageChip processor.
The new HTC Desire 500 has a plastic case, and looks like a mix between HTC ONE s and One SV. The phone has some of the HTC One’s features including the Video Highlights and Blink Feed but it lacks the Boom Sound speakers. The speakers are very important part of the HTC One and they can be found even in the mid-range Desire 600 launched earlier this year. The HTC Desire 600 has a 4.5 inch display 960 x 540, a dual-core CPU at 1.2 GHz with 1 GB of RAM.
According to the information, HTC Desire 500 will enter the market at a price around $400. It could be possible that HTC has made a deal with the Taiwanese carrier – Taiwan Mobile that will be selling the device subsidized. There is no word about the global launch, but the phone recently leaked from O2 in Germany and it is quite possible we see it outside Asia.
