Asus preparing a new 7-inch Android tablet – K008
A new, unnamed Asus tablet appeared on the Bluetooth SIG website. Codenamed K008, the future Asus tablet will probably run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean build version, according to the SIG documentation. The so-called Asus K008 will have a 7-inch screen and it will run software listed as JWR11, which can be easily referred to Android 4.3. Besides that, on the Bluetooth site can be found just a short description of the future tablet. According to the information, the display will be LED with multitouch capabilities and the tablet will have a simple wireless connectivity.
Let’s remind you that another future tablet – Asus K008, but this time with a 10-inch screen was spotted at the FCC listing just a few weeks ago. It seems that the 10-inch version will have a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and a 32 GB internal memory. It also has 3G, LTE and NFC capabilities, according to the FCC listing. As we know, Asus usually sticks to stock Android version, so a basic 4.2 or 4.3 version is expected here. At the moment, there is no other information and we can’t be sure when these new devices will be officially introduced. We can only hope the new tablets will arrive with HD displays and with some good processing capabilities.
Meanwhile, Asus introduced its budget friendly 7-inch MeMo Pad HD7 tablet. Priced at $129 for the 8 GB version and $149 with 16 GB memory, the tablet is equipped with a quad-core ARM processor, 5 MP and 1.2 MP cameras, microSD slot, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. The tablet runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and with price like $129 it aims at capturing the emerging markets. The version with 16 GB of storage will be offered worldwide, the company reveals.
