Who uses their mobiles more – men or women
Have you ever considered which sex makes more business calls and who talks more? As to the second, most of us would say that women are more talkative. However, Marchex Institure conducted a research on the topic and the results they got may come as surprise to you.
The institute analysed 200 000 mobile business conversation and the results are quite interesting. It turns out that the men are talking longer and faster than the women. In figures, this fact looks this way: on the average, men’s conversations last for 7min and 23s and the speakers pronounce 32 words a call. On the other hand, the women are on the phone for 6min and 23s and speak slower – 227 words a call.
If you are asking yourself the question what kind of business they are making on the phone, here is the answer: the men usually make calls connected with auto repairs, locksmith services or bankruptcy, the nutrition, real estates and business are the women’s area of dominance.
And, considering the time of the day when the phone calls are made, it turns out that the men prefer to call and settle their business stuff before lunchtime – in contrast to women. The statistic shows that from 9 am to 12 am the men are more active callers, and the women start making business call from 12 am to 9 pm. From that time on, men and women use the phone equally.
If you are wondering why this information is so important, well, it may be very useful for advertisers – for example, those who promote auto services will target the male audience, while the pest busters may focus their attention on women.
