U.S. Cellular Samsung ATIV Odyssey will run on Windows Phone 8
Are you impatient to see the first device that will run on Windows Phone 8? Rumors say that we will not have to wait long. The first Windows Phone 8 smartphone will arrive at one of the biggest carriers U.S. Cellular until the end of the month. Recent tweets revealed even which device will bring the new update of the platform – it will be Samsung ATIV Odyssey.
The smartphone is armored with a 4-inch AMOLED display, 480x800p and 233ppi pixel density. The handset will work with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus CPU, clocked at 1.5GHz under the hood. Samsung ATIV Odyssey arrives with 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage which can be increased to 64 GB via microSD card. The handset provides a 5MP rare camera that can record video with a resolution of 1080x1920p. On the front panel is located a 1.2MP camera. The battery of Samsung ATIV Odyssey is 2100mAh that gives enough power to the phone during the day.
The first device running on Windows Phone OS arrived in U.S. Cellular two years ago on HTC 7 Pro. The carrier provides only one smartphone that run on Windows Phone 7. It is the ZTE Render device that is offered by the company for just 1 cent as an addition to a two-year contract.
There is still no further information about the exact launching date of Samsung ATIV Odyssey. Rumors say that the big event will happen this month, which means that we only have to wait few more weeks. U.S. Cellular has been making hints that it will launch a device that run on Windows Phone 8, however only now we finally get some kind of confirmation about the exact smartphone that will be announced. The price of the device has not been announced yet.
