Two new variants of ASUS Fonepad 7 at MWC 2014
ASUS Fonepad 7 with LTE and dual-SIM versions announced in Barcelona
ASUS is still not ready to announce new models in the digit world however that doesn’t mean that the company is not preparing some nice surprises for its fans. The company has just unveiled two new variants of one of the newest devices, the ASUS Fonepad 7. The small tablet was officially unveiled in the end of the last year.
The first improved version of the tablet is Fonepad 7 LTE with codename ME372CL. You have probably guessed already that the slate supports 4G LTE connectivity. This is the main improvement in the model compared to the original. It arrives with a 7-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The processor ticking in the heart of the tablet s a dual-core CPU 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560. The ASUS Fonepad 7 LTE is armored with 1GB RAM. The native memory provides in the tablet is 8GB. Luckily the Fonepad 7 comes with microSD slot for cards for more storage. It boasts a 5MP main camera located on the back panel. On the front panel lies a 1.2MP shooter. The battery in the model is 3950mAh. Fonepad 7 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform.
Along with the new LTE-enabled version, the ASUS Fonepad 7 is introduced with dual-SIM model. it has the codename ME175CG. The slate boasts slightly different specs than the original device. For example, it is powered by a quad-core processor with Intel Atom Z2520 working at 1.2GHz. In terms of connectivity the ME175CG Fonepad 7 supports 3G. The rest of the capabilities and the specs are the same as the LTE-enabled model. The company keeps the mystery about the price and the availability of the new tablets. It is still unknown when the Fonepad 7 dual-SIM and Fonepad 7 LTE will be officially released.
Both models are displayed at MWC along with ASUS PadFone, ZenFone and PadFone mini.
