The next update of HTC Thunderbolt coming soon
HTC Thunderbolt is one of the classical devices on Taiwanese company – old yet stable and good. Those who still use it after 12, may start celebrating – Verizon and HTC seem to have shaken hands over the deal.
As usual, we see the update confirmed and detailed by the documents of the support page on the website. Usually, 24-48 after publishing this online, the device gets the update, but our HTC Thunderbolt units are short of it, which means we will probably just have to wait a bit more. When the update is finally read for your phone, you will see that it is only 19MB big, which means that you will be able to download it quickly and seamlessly even over the mobile data connection.
This story turns to be some unique luck for HTC Thunderbolt. When it was released, it was the first to have 4G LTE, but after its release it was underestimated and forgotten. It received its Android Ice Cream Sandwich after months of waiting – in February. Till then a lot of HTC services were already updated to Jelly Bean. Now the update is not Jelly Bean again, but it is an update, right?
What we can say for sure is that HTC Thunderbolt won’t get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Sorry, owners of the phone! Nevertheless, the device is still attractive and has what to offer, so you may consider it, especially when you know that it has been updated. Let’s remind you that this phone, which is a 2011 model, has a 4.3 TFT display with 217ppi and resolution 480×800, supports LTE 700MHz Class 13, has 4GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 32 via mircoSD, the rear shooter is 8MP and has autofocus, dual-led flash and the ability to record 720p videos, the front shooter is 1.3MP, the processor – Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8655 clocked at 1Ghz and the graphic card is Adreno 205. All this makes HTC Thunderbolt still competitive.
