The entry level ZTE Open out of stock on eBay
The low-priced entry level devices are having a blast in the last year. A real prove for this is the ZTE Open smartphone that runs on Firefox OS. The new operating system has a long way ahead of it until it reaches the functionality and the popularity of the famous platforms Android, iOS and Windows Phone.
One of the ways for boasting the popularity of Firefox OS is by integrating it to low-cost devices. The Chinese manufacturer ZTE has embraced the idea to introduce the new OS to one of its new devices and that is how the ZTE Open was brought to the mobile world. There are few things that grab users’ attention about this device and certainly add up to its popularity. Its attractive and fresh orange color of the panel and the compact sleek body are just the beginning of what the phone has to offer. It works over Firefox OS and features a very simple and user friendly interface that seems to be appreciated by users. The phone was recently introduced to the UK and US markets after it was launched in several countries in Europe and Latin America.
The Open sports a small 3.5-inches touchscreen. It works with 1GHz CPU and 256 RAM. Owners of the phone can rely on 512MP internal memory which is expandable. It is adorned with 3.2MP primary camera. The whole neat package is powered by a 1200mAh battery. The blend of specs will certainly not make you jump from the chair and head to the nearest retailer to get it, however the price of ZTE Open might evoke this reaction. It sells for £59.99 in the UK and $79.99 in the US.
According to sources, all the units planned for sells through eBay are sold out. Of course that does not mean that ZTE Open cannot be found anywhere. It is available at private retailers. The sells on eBay show the interest for the device – the bids have reached $116 for now. The new Firefox OS will continue to develop. The VP of Mozilla Dr. Li Gong has announced that the company will encourage developers to write native apps for the platform.
