Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet officially debuts in Barcelona at MWC 2014
Sony officially introduced the new Xperia Z2 Tablet
The MWC 2014 brings very good news for fans of Sony – three new devices that will fascinate you at first glance. The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet made its official debut earlier today along with the high-end flagship Sony Xpeira Z2 and the mid-ranger Sony Xperia M2.
The new model slate that joins the Xperia line was an object of rumors and specs in the past few weeks. It is the successor of the released last year Sony Xperia Z tablet. The new model is announced with two versions – 3G/LTE or Wi-Fi. The differences in the connectivity features reflect in the weight of the models. The Xperia Z2 tablet Wi-Fi weighs 426 grams while its 3G/LTE sibling tips the scale at 439 grams. One of the biggest advantages of the new slate is its water and dust resistant capabilities. Sony refers to Xperia Z2 tablet as the “world’s slimmest and lightest waterproof tablet.”
The specs of the model are very impressive. It boasts a 10.1-inch screen Triluminos with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The display is created with the Live Color LED technology by Sony. It provides more uniform light thanks to the pairing of the green and red phosphor with the blue LEDs. On the inside of the tablet is working a powerful quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz. It is not a surprise that the chipset in the configuration is the latest Snapdragon 801 working with 3GB RAM. The operating system that powers the Xperia Z2 tablet is Android 4.4 KitKat. The cameras provides in the model are an 8.1MP sensor on the back and a 2.2MP camera on the front panel. The main camera is packed with plenty of new features that are worth trying, such as the Superior Auto. The capabilities of the Xperia Z2 tablet include support for Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC and LTE for the 4G-enabled variant. The new slate works with a giganto battery with a capacity of 6000mAh. The launching of the Xperia Z2 tablet is scheduled for March. Sony has not unveiled the price of the slate yet, but we can assume that it will be higher than the costs for its predecessor – Xperia Z table at price of $499.
