Sony Xperia Z1S hits the virtual shelves of T-Mobile
Sony Xperia Z1S was one of the good surprises that Sony was keeping for us for CES 2014. The model was an object of discussions and rumors for months before the event. The gossips suggested that the Xperia Z1S is the name of the mini variant of the flagship Xperia Z1. However this time the rumors did not quite turn out to be true. The smaller model was announced under the name Sony Xperia Z1 Compact.
When the Xperia Z1 was officially launched it was a bit of surprise why the flagship was not released in the US. The answer is already known – Sony is preparing a special version for the US carrier that is launching the handset. Xperia Z1S is the smartphone purposed for T-Mobile in the States. The news from today is that the flagship is already available for sales in the online store of the company. In-store sales begin on 21st of January all around the country. T-Mobile offers the Xperia Z1S for zero down payment with a two-year signed contract and monthly payments of $22.
The model is equipped with the same specs as its sibling. It features a 5-inches display with 1080p. The model arrives with Android 4.3 working on it. It is “dressed” in water resistant body with IP58 certificate. Under the hood of Xperia Z1S is ticking a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip clocked at 2.2GHz. There are 16GB storage on board and microSD slot. On the back of the phone is set 20.7MP camera. It supports a broad range of connectivity features, including LTE for T-Mobile’s bands. The battery of the model is 3000mAh. The full retail price of Sony Xperia Z1S is $528. The phone competes against the flagships Samsung Galaxy S4, Apple iPhone 5S, HTC One and LG G2.
