Sony Xperia Z1 will be launched by Telus on 15th of October
Sony Xperia Z1 was introduced over a month ago but just now the phone is making its first steps towards North America. We recently shared with you the leak revealing that the new camera-phone by Sony will be launched by one of the biggest carriers in US, T-Mobile. Now we get the news that the Xperia Z1 is getting ready to arrive in the carriers in Canada as well. The source of information is a screenshot of an internet document of Telus, one of the Canadian mobile operators. The expected launch date from the carrier is 15th of October (tomorrow). The mobile operator Bell will also release the Xperia Z1 on Tuesday. Fans of the camera-phone in Canada will have the option to buy the phone for $699.95 unlocked from Bell. According to the internal document, the handset will cost $725 at Telus. The latter carrier will offer the Xperia Z1 with two year contract which will lower the costs to $99.
For your money you will get a high-end camera-based smartphone with 5-inches display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. It will be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz and 2GB RAM on board. The storage of the phone is 16GB with possibilities for expansion up to 64GB via microSD. The most significant advantage of the new flagship of Sony is its 20.7MP camera. It is located on the back on the device with Exmor RS sensor. Xperia Z1 has water-proof body with IP58 certificate. It works on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform which will soon be updated to the new version. The battery of Xperia Z1 is with 3000mAh. It boasts a wide range of connectivity features, including support for 4G LTE network. It will be available in three main color variants – black, purple and white. The phone was firstly released on the international markets and just now is making its way through the US and Canadian carriers.
