Sony Xperia Z tested for water resistance

Yesterday seems to have been the day of Sony’s Xperia-s at the CES 2013. And we did our best to bring you as much news as possible. Truly, the specs of the are impressive, but perhaps the most interesting feature the phone has to offer is that it’s been IP57 certified for dust and water resistance.

At their booth in the great halls of CES, Sony made sure to prove to the public this feature by performing a test, at which the lower portion of a Xperia Z was dipped into a small pool of water. You understand of course, that most handsets would be seriously damaged if dropped in water, but as Sony showed, not the Xerpia Z. The water resistant aspect of the phone is truly unique. It’s a feature not commonly found with high-end devices.
