It shows how large the Samsung tablets following is. The growth of the sales was especially intensive in the last quarter of this year. That was due mostly to the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. That is the 2014 edition of the Galaxy Tab. It came out on a number of markets during that period. Another reason for the growth was the bunch of promotions. They were offered for the holiday season. They also increased the popularity of Samsung tablets. There were offers of a cheaper priced Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, and there were offers of free Galaxy Tab 3 7.0.
The news came out thanks to FNN News. It was announced that in the first quarter Samsung sold 9.1 million tablets. In the second quarter the number was a little smaller: 8.4 million. In the third quarter the number was larger, 10.5 million. And the fourth quarter marked a record in sales with over 12 million Samsung tablets sold. The sales have increased a lot compared to 2010 – with the sales of about 1.5 million tablets. Then in 2011 the number soared to about 6 million. In 2012 the number of tablets sold by Samsung was 16.6 million. The year 2013 is much more auspicious.
