Samsung is initiating discussions for Tizen during the conference in San Francisco
The innovations in hardware are one of the powers that move the tech world ahead. But even the most amazing peaks in hardware features are nothing if they are not backed up by innovative software that can unleash the whole potential of the technologies. Therefore, a lot of companies today are providing different strategies that aim to attract more developers to work on apps for platforms and improvements of the software for new devices. This week the Korean manufacturer Samsung is holding its developer conference in San Francisco.
The main purpose of the conference is to encourage developers to create a rich library with unique apps for the Samsung devices running on the Android platform. The company is also focusing on the improvement and the development of its native operating system Tizen. The main discussions on the relatively new platform are taking place in between the scheduled events. In long term, Samsung is planning to switch from Android to the new operating system Tizen for its devices. It is the result of the team work between Samsung and Intel.
We have seen several leaks with devices showing prototypes of devices running on early builds of Tizen, including smartphones and a tablet. Samsung is planning to make the transition to the new platform gradually. This is the place where the work of developers becomes crucial for the success of Tizen. The apps that are compatible with the operating system are written in HTML5. According to rumors exactly problems with the native app store of the platform pushed back the launching of Tizen. The new expectations suggest that the official presenting of the Samsung’s operating system will happen in January 2014 at CES.
During the conference more details about Tizen were revealed. For example it is responsive to work well in various screen sizes. It boasts API for different features. One of the companies that have announced that it is considering developing a native Tizen app is the online retailer eBay.
