Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite visits the FCC, possible launch in Q1 2014
The FCC listing confirms the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite existence
The FCC listing confirms the rumors saying that Samsung is preparing a budget version of its Tab 3 tablet. It seems that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite tablet is real and it could be launched sometime in Q1 next year. SamMobile has spotted the low-end tablet at the FFC listing which means the tablet has been submitted for certification in the US.
It seems that the company is trying to diversify its Tab 3 line up offering more alternatives on the market. The original Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 was released in April and since then the company has released two versions for kids, called Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids and Hello Kitty. There are a lot of rumors around the new model – The Tab 3 Lite. As the name implies, this model could be a downgraded version of the original. On the other hand, some sources claim the Lite version could have the same 7-inch screen and resolution as those found on the original model. In addition, both models are said to have an identical 1.2 GHz dual-core processor.
The tablet is rumored to have an attractive price tag of $129 (100 euros). If the rumors are true, this could be a very warm- welcomed budget oriented tablet from the leading manufacturer. SamMobile suggests that it could be released in the second-half of January, in black and white, running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. According to the information, there will be four new tablet models in Q1 2014, and the first one will be the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. Other details around the Lite version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 have not been revealed.
